A horse’s pedigree is more than a list of names. It shows the bloodlines behind the animal, the qualities that may have been inherited and the direction in which the horse may develop.
When studying a pedigree, it is useful to look at known sires, results of close relatives, the type of line and the balance between sire and dam lines.
More than documents
A strong pedigree never guarantees success by itself. It should be considered together with conformation, movement, health, temperament and the conditions in which the horse was raised.
When pedigree is combined with live evaluation, the buyer gets a much clearer view of the horse’s prospects.
